Support Groups
I can not emphasize enough how important a support group is.
Many women need support and if they do not receive support they
may stop breastfeeding. If you go online you will be able to
find a wealth of information on support groups in your community.
Ask women in your OBGYN office at appointments, or play groups
on this topic. La Leche League is a wonderful start offering
monthly meetings with structured topics and a hotline number
to help you while you’re transitioning at home the first
couple of days to months postpartum. Check out your health clinic,
hospital or birthing center, they will most likely offer free
or small fee classes on breastfeeding. You can also check out
baby or breastfeeding boutiques, many offer free or fee weekly
or monthly classes led by certified lactation consultants and
while you’re there browse the boutique and have fun buying
baby or breastfeeding essentials.
I wish all of you the best of luck with breastfeeding! I
found my passion of wanting to help breastfeeding mothers
through the beautiful experience of breastfeeding my own 3
children. I understand the frustration that may come along
with this tender time and want to help other mommies who may
need the help. If I can help you find a lactation consultant,
support group or for any advice on the subject please email
at me info@mommyslittlemonkey.com and I will do my very best
to help.
Happy Nursing Your Little Monkey and especially happy transitioning
into your new life!

certified lactation consultant. Please consult with a professional
for all of your concerns and questions)

As a new mother I was very
adamant to breastfeed. I knew that breast milk was very nourishing and the best
that I could give my baby. Little did I know what to expect or what I would
physically experience. I believed that after birth I would simply place my baby
to my breast, she would receive nourishment and I would radiantly glow as I
gazed at my her...you know the stuff you see in movies. What do you mean that’s
not real!
